TLDR

• Feed and walk Laika twice a day (two poops)! Give him a dental chew after the morning walk. Fill the water bowl/fountain if it gets low :) He’s food motivated.
• Try to take him to the park during informal dog hours to get his energy out; he zooms more in open spaces than in enclosed dog runs, but something is better than nothing 🙂
• PLS don’t leave any food within reach, only very high shelves and the very back of tall counters are safe. Laika can open zippers, reach deep on tables/counters, etc. He has stolen chocolate from backpacks, candy and bagels from countertops, etc.

If Laika’s gotten his two poops + food, he’s usually good to go and will settle down even if he’s a bit huffy. He likes the park a lot.. don’t feel obligated to go every day :) Also he can stay at home very well for ~8 hours.

Food

Laika eats twice a day:

• Morning - whenever you wake up
• Evening - anytime between 4-5pm. I aim for 4:30pm but depends on his mood.

Feed him a ½ lb of sausage each time (It’s marked with tickers on the packaging, located in the fridge.) Cut a slice from the roll and cut it up into cubes or pizza slices. If you get home late it’s okay to feed him late.

Water
